A bougainvillea flower that I photographed and painted inspired me to create the Boho Bougainvillea Pattern Collection. The shapes, lines and colors that were reveled when I zoomed in with the camera were intriguing. Read the story here.
Of course, first starting out with a mood board I gathered some inspiration.
I designed the Boho Bougainvillea Nouveau using the triangle shape and the flower with some art Nouveau elements and leaf shapes to create the set layout.
I painted the background of the Boho Bougainvillea Watercolor pattern using same the colors in the flower painting. Using the shape of the tiny flower in different sizes and transparent gold to show the watercolor background through in a tossed layout. I liked the negative shapes that are showing at 100%.
Boho Bougainvillea leaves & dots use the same leaf and circles from the flower in a stripe layout on a dark background to give a nice contract to the collection.
Below you can see what a dress would look like using all three textile patterns for a fun look. Of course, there are many other garments that would look wonderdul with rich fall colored textiles. Home decor such as pillows, slip covers, quilts, etc. would add richness to any room.
The Boho Bougainvillea Pattern Collection is available as fabric or home décor products at my Spoonflower store.
